1938

The first Özsüt store opens in Kemeraltı, Izmir. Initially selling only yogurt and kaymak, the store expanded into milk desserts made with traditional recipes used in the palace kitchen.

1970

Özsüt continues its focus on traditional desserts, making a name for itself as an iconic dessert-maker in Izmir.

Sefer Urlulu

Sefer Urlulu, or Artisan Sefer as he was known, played a key role in the story of Özsüt, which he established in 1938. And that is how the journey of Özsüt began.

1980
1980

With the leadership of its founder Sefer Urlulu and the skill of its chefs, Özsüt continues to grow and build its reputation.

1991
1991

Özsüt opens its first branch in Alsancak, Izmir, which becomes highly popular in a short amount of time and eventually turns into an iconic location of the city.

1996
1996

Özsüt switches to a franchising system, which brings about a rapid increase in the number of locations. Özsüt reaches six stores.

2002
2002

The number of Özsüt locations climbs to 50. Özsüt’s trend of growth and franchising continues as the brand begins introducing its desserts to areas all across the country.

2014
2014

A private equity firm invests in Özsüt, adding momentum to the company’s growth and achievements.

2019
2019

İbrahim Urlulu, the legendary manager of Özsüt, buys back the entirety of the brand’s stock, taking the mantle of Chairman to steer and accelerate the company’s journey.

2021

Özsüt’s reputation expands beyond the borders of Türkiye! Building on its reputation as a dessert-maker offering a rich menu of diverse flavors suitable for every hour of the day, Özsüt continues its growth. The number of locations in Türkiye climbs steadily while the brand also works towards its growth targets overseas. Özsüt is well on its way towards becoming a global brand with new investments planned in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
